After two decades as one of the most beloved and enduring musicals on the stage, Wicked makes its long-awaited trip to the big screen as a spectacular, generation-defining cinematic event this holiday season. The Wicked Witch’s name, Elphaba, was created by taking the phonetic pronunciation of the original “Wizard of Oz” author L. Frank Baum’s initials, L-F-B, who became Elphaba. Glinda: Don’t be afraid. elphaba: I’m not afraid. It’s the Wizard who should be afraid of me. The Universal Pictures logo has the globe in pink (representing Glinda) and the company name in green (representing Elphaba). The galaxy nebula background is grayish-black.
