When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and intended to interview people similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least pitch him to Ford first, thinking he would flat-out reject it, but at least other people would find out that Harrison Ford was in the project, which sparked interest from other famous actors.

Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless. Failed therapist Jason Segal tries to rebuild his life, get his daughter to stop hating him, and help his patients while doing a lot of borderline unethical things that are probably a really bad idea.

The show is often very funny and touching without being awkward, with good support from Christa Miller and Lukita Maxwell

I’m not a huge Jason Segal fan, but I liked him as a therapist, and the supporting cast included Harrison Ford and Jessica Williams, both of whom I adore. I was a little hesitant after the first episode, but the show quickly gained my sympathy and by the end I was sold.
